Mesquite Aquatics Center

Due to open in the Spring of 2024, RWB partnered with WRA Architects for the complete renovation of the former Dallas College, Eastfield Campus, swimming pool, to be reopened as the new and first MISD-COM Aquatics Center.

This facility will feature two diving boards, (8) 25-yard swim lanes, (6) 25-meter swim lanes, new tile throughout, an updated pool finish, competition ready “Myrtha” gutter system, as well as a transparent Open-Aire aluminum structure to enclose the pool for use on cold or wet days.

Completed Projects
Frisco Public Library

Frisco Public Library

Design for Frisco’s new public library draws inspiration from the Blackland Prairie where dogtrot-style homes developed across the North Texas region in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Moving from Frisco’s City Hall to the former Beal building, the 158,000 square-foot space will easily triple the size of the current library.

The library features flexible shared spaces including a new community event center, a second-floor mezzanine, and a rooftop terrace.

Round Rock Public Library Exterior

Round Rock Public Library

The new Public Library is to be located in the heart of Downtown Round Rock across from the current existing public library.

The library will act as a landmark and a natural extension of Historical Downtown; to create a public link between Downtown and the larger circuit of cultural and historic options available in Round Rock.

The 3-story, 65,000 square-foot facility will include highly flexible and adaptable spaces such as technology hub, maker space, café, large multipurpose rooms, quiet reading room, genealogy room, ample study spaces and rooms, an entire floor dedicated to children and teens, and secure outdoor interactive roof garden and public courtyard.

Awards
Award Winner SMU Washburne Soccer Track Stadium

2023 Building Technology Award

RWB Consulting Engineers has been recognized early this year by the ASHRAE Dallas Chapter as a Building Technology winner.

Southern Methodist University (SMU) opened the new Washburne Soccer and Track Stadium in Spring of 2022.This unique athletic facility is comprised of a glass courtyard, press box, meeting rooms, training rooms, and locker rooms. The cooling and heating requirements were typical for the Dallas, TX area, but the ventilation requirements were high because most of the spaces are locker rooms, restrooms, and showers.

The design of the building’s architecture and structure greatly limited the options for cooling and heating. The available spacing for HVAC systems was scarce. A VRF system was selected for the cooling and heating loads, using low-profile ducted indoor units above the ceiling and twinned heat pumps with heat recovery for the outdoor units.
