The newly constructed Collin College Farmersville Campus creates a “One Stop Shop” for greeting and advising students on the academics housed on this campus. In this same space, students can also have their student ID taken and register for classes.
The 52,000 SF campus contains seven classrooms, three computer labs, two science labs, and a workforce lab. Amenities include a library and bookstore, a tutoring center, career center, testing center. The space will accommodate up to 1,250 students.
The facility serves Eastern Collin County residents by providing higher education courses in General Education, Business Management, Accounting, Agriculture, Computers/IT, Logistics and Transportation and Marketing programs.
High school students in Farmersville ISD will have the opportunity to take early college classes by earning either academic or workforce dual credit through Collin College. Collin College dual credit classes are taught at Farmersville HS and online.
RWB designed all aspects of the Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical (Power, Lighting, Fire Alarm) systems for the campus. This includes the design of fire sprinkler/protection, emergency generator systems and MPE infrastructure systems.
Additionally, RWB coordinated with design team members on the placement of MPE spaces within the campus, helped with utility planning for existing and future MPE, and helped prepare the master plan for MPE systems. A future central utility plant is planned for this campus.
The total project cost was $20.5M.
