Project Details
The City of Farmers Branch recently opened a newly designed fire station, Fire Station No. 2 to help serve the east side of the city. The project consisted of a ground-up design from the architects at PGAL. The unique triangular site location inspired the architectural design of the new building allowing all sides of the building to be exposed.
Construction began in May 2019 and the Fire Station was fully occupied in May 2020.
The newly constructed 10,500 SF fire station building contains two drive thru bays, 10 sleeping quarters, kitchen, gym, and a community room to seat up to 35 people. Additionally, new parking spaces were added, landscape improvements were made, adding in walking trails and outdoor seating.
The new and improved facility will equip first responders with the resources needed to protect the residents of the city. Farmers Branch Fire Station No. 2 has been relocated to the new facility on Alpha Link Road across the street from Brookhaven College. The existing facility located on Valley View Lane is expected to be torn down.
The new fire station contains sustainable Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing designs which include the design of:
- Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) Systems
- Plumbing Systems
